Dubrovnik and Game of Trones filming location
Dubrovnik (Croatian: [dǔbroːʋniːk] historically Latin: Ragusa) is a Croatian city on the Adriatic Sea. It is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Mediterranean Sea, a seaport and the centre of Dubrovnik-Neretva County. Its total population is 42,615 (census 2011). In 1979, the city of Dubrovnik joined the UNESCO list of World Heritage sites.
Dubrovnik has been a prominent Game of Thrones filming location since Season 2 and the Croatian city is a must visit for any Game of Thrones fan. After all Dubrovnik is King’s Landing, the capital of the Seven Kingdoms! The Old Town is full to the brim of filming spots and there are several other locations around the city. On a recent visit to Croatia we made it our mission to seek out as many Game of Thrones filming locations as we could find and have put together a list of our key stops on a Game of Thrones tour of Dubrovnik.
